What I thought would be a cosmetic change to our entryway turned into much more hence PART 1!
We bought white Rust-Oleum spray paint (on sale) and exterior white paint we had leftover from home. I sanded and cleaned the door well and Ed got busy spray painting.
Looking better for sure! Then Ed started to prep the exterior wood and, well it turned into a MUCH bigger project!
Yes, that's a HOLE in the doorway floor!
Can you see the cinder block UNDER the house?
We knew the wood was soft in the entrance but it turned out there was no real support and the wood was rotting. Ed also discovered the additional layer of linoleum which should add to our later project when we lay down the vinyl planking in the lake room! As we weren't prepared to replace the door sill, Ed went with the "use what we have" philosophy for the door:
Ta da! Leftover shelving and other miscellaneous pieces of wood created our temporary door sill. Guess it will do until we get around to finishing the lake room...
Stay tuned for PART 2!
